The Importance of Stories

Living daily with my own would-be Mary and Laura brought this beautiful post by Ann Voskamp even closer to home for me.  Read and ruminate.

  1. Thank you for pointing that out! I recognize the importance of TELLING a story but I’m also very bad at it. Joshua is just at the stage of appreciating me telling him one instead of reading it. Ocassionally he’ll ask for me to “tell story ’bout . . .” Presently I’m limited to Goldilocks & the Three Bears, The THree Little Pigs and, only on request, the story of Nemo. =X

  2. I feel that way, too, Carrie. My girls want me to tell them stories about when I was a little girl, and honestly, they all seem pretty boring to me. However, Ann’s post reminded me of the importance of telling my own story, especially as it relates to God’s work in my life.

Providentially, we have grandmothers in our lives who are pretty good at this sort of thing!
